A Jersey City woman was charged with drunk driving in Hoboken after causing a car accident, subsequently failing field sobriety and breathalyzer tests, police said.

Emily Vieni, 30, of Jersey City, was charged with driving while suspended, reckless driving, and driving while intoxicated, according to Police Det. Lt. Danilo Cabrera.
On Sunday around 9:50 p.m., Sgt. Edward Sellick and Officer Marc Lombardi responded to 412 Monroe St. on a report of a motor vehicle accident, officials said.
When Lombardi arrived, he found a black 2017 Honda with its airbags deployed, heavy front end damage, and the windshield cracked and it was determined that Vieni was driving the car, authorities said.
An on scene investigation revealed that Vieni struck a parked red 2017 Toyota that was occupied by a driver and a front passenger. All parties involved refused medical attention. When Sellick arrived, he spoke to both operators.
Sellick detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage emanating from Vieni. He put Vieni through a battery of tests and determined that she was unable to operate a motor vehicle safely, police said.
Vieni was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. At headquarters, she provided a breath sample and found to be above the legal limit. Vieni received the above listed motor vehicle summonses and was released to a responsible party, officials said.
