Earlier today, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit with assistance from the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task
Force arrested Joseph Summers in New York City.

Summers, 51, of East Orange, was wanted in connection with the murder of Gregory Harvey on Wilkinson Avenue in Jersey City on Friday, April 5, 2019. He was arrested without incident.

He was charged with murder, unlawful possession of a weapon, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose and hindering apprehension or prosecution, authorities said.

Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit for the
investigation and arrest, the U.S. Marshals New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force for assisting with the arrest and the Jersey City Police Department for assisting in the
investigation.

The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office has determined the cause of death to be blunt force
trauma and the manner of death to be homicide.

On April 6th, shortly after 1:30 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department received a report of
an unresponsive male at 112 Wilkinson Avenue in Jersey City.

Responding Jersey City Police Officers found Harvey, 60, inside that location with apparent
head injuries. He was pronounced dead at approximately 2:05 p.m., officials said.

  1. All the murders being committed in this once peaceful town, that was so nice that it was nicknamed ” Chilltown”. It is ashamed. I grew up in an era when murder were few and far in between!! Oh how I long for the good ol’ days of years gone by. Nowadays any cowardly dude with a few dollars in their pockets can purchase a gun and go around and kill people. I truly believe that they should institute the death penalty in the state of N.J. and no long drawn out process, if you are convicted of a senseless killing, they should have a hanging post on certain corners, where they hang those convicted of killing innocents!! Bring back the peace to this once peaceful town, bring it back to CHILLTOWN, not KILLTOWN!!
