HCPO arrests 12 people and recovers 3 firearms in Jersey City drug investigation

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Narcotics and Gangs Task Force arrested 12 people, also recovering three firearms, in a Jersey City drug investigation on Clinton Avenue, Prosecutor Wayne Mello announced.

The arrests were made with the assistance of the Jersey City Police Department and the U.S. Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives.

As a result of the months-long  investigation, three firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, and various quantities of cocaine,  heroin, and prescription drugs were seized.

The investigation was initiated after law enforcement received reports of narcotics being  distributed on Clinton Avenue in Jersey City.

The following individuals were arrested between Wednesday, July 8th and Wednesday, July 15th:

  • Anthony Ross, 44, of Jersey City, is charged with numerous narcotics offenses relating  to the possession of heroin and cocaine.  
  • Christian Rivera, 30, of Irvington, is charged with numerous weapons and drug offenses  relating to the possession of multiple handguns, large capacity magazines, oxycodone, and  promethazine.  
  • Dion Ross, 36, of Jersey City, is charged with numerous narcotics offenses relating to the  possession of heroin and cocaine. 
  • Shawn Adams, 27, of Jersey City, is charged with numerous weapons and narcotics  offenses relating to the possession of a handgun, heroin, and cocaine.  
  • Francisco Delacruz, 35, of Newark, is charged with numerous narcotics offenses relating  to the possession of heroin and cocaine.
  • Diamond Malave, 27, of Jersey City, is charged with numerous narcotics offenses  relating to the possession of heroin and cocaine. 
  • Jack Ross, 76, of Jersey City, is charged with numerous narcotics offenses relating to  the possession of heroin and cocaine. 
  • A 61-year-old female is charged with possession of cocaine.  
  • Three females are charged with disorderly persons offenses relating to the possession of  drug paraphernalia. 

An arrest warrant has been issued for Zaiir Belton, 25, of Jersey City. He is charged with numerous  narcotics offenses relating to the possession of heroin and cocaine.

Mello credited the HCPO Narcotics and Gangs Task  Force, the Jersey City PD, and ATFE with the investigation and arrests, with assistance from the Hudson County Sheriff’s  Office.
