There are currently 82 cases of COVID-19 across Hudson County as of about 1 p.m. today and a testing center will be coming to Secaucus early next week, officials said.
“There are 82 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Hudson County with one fatality caused by the virus,” the Hudson County government wrote on their website less than an hour ago.
“In partnership with Hudson Regional Hospital in Secaucus (formerly Meadowlands Medical Center), Hudson County is developing a testing site on the Hospital grounds that we anticipate will open early next week. Details beyond this location will be provided officially on Monday.”
The online post also says that protocols established by the U.S. Centers for Disease Control will be followed, which includes making an appointment based on symptoms.
The Riverside Medical Group currently has drive-through testing in Secaucus and plans to start another one in Hoboken as early as Saturday.
Additionally, a pre-screening system for Christ Hospital’s Jersey City emergency room was unveiled at a press conference yesterday.
In neighboring Bergen County, their community college’s testing site in Paramus closed in just four hours on their first day of operations, The Record reported.
