7 months later, Bayonne police make arrest for man found ‘bleeding profusely’

Seven months after the incident occurred, a man “bleeding profusely from the head and face” ultimately led to the arrest of a young Bayonne man early yesterday morning, police said.

Wesley Bullock, 25, of Bayonne, was charged with aggravated assault, according to Police Lt. Eric Amato.

Bullock was taken into custody around 11:24 a.m. yesterday from the area of 49th Street and Broadway after being identified as the actor of an aggravated assault that occurred on July 15th, 2018.

On this date, officers responded to the outside of 1006 Broadway on a report of a male bleeding from the face. Upon arrival, officers located the 31-year-old victim bleeding profusely from the head and face.

The victim was uncooperative at the scene. but an investigation into the incident by the Bayonne Police Detective Bureau led to Bullock being identified as the individual who physically assaulted the victim earlier in the halls of 1006 Broadway.

It is believed that the two knew each other, but what caused the assault remains unknown, authorities said.
