A 21-year-old Jersey City woman was sexually assaulted at a local hotel by a man she said she met earlier in the evening on Saturday morning, authorities said.

On Saturday, shortly after 4:00 a.m., members of the Jersey City Police Department responded to a report of a sexual assault that occurred at the Courtyard by Marriott
located at 540 Washington Blvd. in Jersey City, Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement.
Responding officers found a 21-year-old female from Jersey City who reported that she
was sexually assaulted a short time after 2:30 a.m. by an unknown male she met earlier that evening in Newark.
The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit is actively investigating this case with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department and no arrests have been made at this time.
