A 59-year-old man was convicted by a Hudson County jury of sexually assaulting an underage girl at a residence in North Bergen between 2013 and 2015 when she was under the age of 10.

Carlos Perez, 59, of Palisades Park, was found guilty of two counts of aggravated sexual assault, sexual assault, and endangering the welfare of a child, according to Acting Hudson County Prosecutor Wayne Mello.
The verdict was delivered following a three-day trial before Hudson County Superior Court Judge Nesle Rodriguez. The State was represented by Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor Andrew Baginski.
His sentencing is tentatively scheduled for October 31st and the defendant faces 25 years to life in New Jersey State Prison and is subject to Megan’s Law registration, Parole Supervision for Life, and Nicole’s Law Restraining Order, authorities said.
