“During the fall of 2014, did you wear what is commonly known as a wire?” criminal defense attorney Brian Neary, who is representing NB DPW Supervisor Troy Bunero in the matter, asked Wiley.

“Yes,” Wiley responded, later adding that “you don’t need to be a college graduate to put a wire on your chest.”

After repeatedly reaffirming that Wiley was working in conjunction with the state Attorney General’s Office while wearing a wire, Neary wanted to know more details.

“Would it be fair to say that for almost every football game that the North Bergen Bruins played, you were wearing a wire?” Neary asked. “Yes,” Wiley immediately quipped back.

Wiley also revealed that it was his idea, not the state AG’s Office, to wear a wire as part of his plea deal.

After discussing specific dates and their corresponding football games, Wiley revealed that on October 2, 2014, he visited a private residence for several hours, though who the private residence belonged to was never revealed.

Later, Neary also made it known that Wiley wore a wire as recently as February of this year, attending a function at Vainieri Funeral Home, located at 59th Street and John F. Kennedy Boulevard in North Bergen.

“You recall sometime in February, February of 19 … 2015, I’m sorry, you were actually wearing a wire at Vainieri’s Funeral Home?” Neary inquired. “Yes I do,” Wiley responded.
