“I am deeply honored to have the support of the Collective PAC,” she began in a statement.
“Their mission to empower Black leaders aligns with my own commitment to breaking down barriers and ensuring every voice in our community is heard. Together, we can continue building a Jersey City that works for everyone.”
The Collective PAC praised Watterman’s leadership and her record of advocacy.
“Joyce Watterman is a proven leader who has dedicated her career to uplifting her community and fighting for justice,” they said.
“Her historic achievements and steadfast commitment to equity make her exactly the kind of leader we need in public office. We are proud to endorse her and stand with her as she continues to make a difference for Jersey City and beyond.”
Watterman is in a field of five candidates seeking to succeed Mayor Steven Fulop, who is running for governor instead of seeking a fourth term, in the non-partisan November 4th contest.
The other declared mayoral hopefuls are former Gov. Jim McGreevey, Hudson County Commissioner Bill O’Dea (D-2), Ward E Councilman James Solomon, and ex-Board of Education President Mussab Ali.
