Woman charged with breaking into Bayonne woman’s house, stealing credit cards

A Jersey City woman has been charged with breaking into a Bayonne woman’s house and stealing “numerous forms of identification and debit/credit cards,” police said.

Nancy A. Wandell, 52, of Jersey City, was charged with burglary, theft, and credit card theft on Tuesday, according to Police Capt. Eric Amato.

She was taken into custody at about 1:47 p.m. yesterday from her residence after an investigation into a reported burglary led to her being identified as the actor.

On August 5th at approximately 8:20 p.m., officers responded to a residence on West 42nd Street on a report of a burglary and theft.

According to the victim, an individual, later identified as Wandell, entered the apartment a few hours earlier and removed her purse containing numerous forms of identification and debit/credit cards.

The victim only learned of this after a nearby resident contacted her and told her that she located her purse containing and a piece of mail addressed to the victim in the area of 45th Street and Avenue C.

The area resident then responded to the address on the piece of mail and advised the victim of the details of the recovery.

The Bayonne Police Detective Bureau initiated an investigation, which confirmed that Wandell committed the burglary and theft. As a result, detectives responded to her residence and placed her under arrest, authorities said.
