“When you win your first championship, they say it’s luck. The second win proves it wasn’t. But now, with this three-peat, there’s no denying the excellence, resilience, and commitment of our team,” Weehawken Superintendent of Schools Eric Crespo said in a statement.

“This is what sustained greatness looks like against the outstanding talent of teams in Hudson County.”

The Weehawken girls softball bested their counterparts at Bayonne High School on May 17th, the fourth straight time they met, with the North Hudson sluggers again victorious, this time by a 4-3 margin.

“This three-peat is a testament to the unwavering commitment and passion of these exceptional young women. They have not only defended their title but have now created a lasting legacy for our program,” added Weehawken Girls Head Softball Coach Raquel Roder.

“We are immensely proud of their achievement, especially considering that Bayonne is an excellent team that is well-coached. Every year, our program has been breaking records and making history, and it’s clear that their dedication and the leadership of Coach Roder have set a foundation for all their success,” declared Weehawken Athletic Director Brian Fischer.

The Weehawken Township School District also extended their heartfelt congratulations to the parents, fans and especially to the players, Roder, Fischer, Coach Nicole Fleck, JV coaches, Principal Robert Ferullo, the Board of Education trustees, Board President Jennifer Bolcar, Township Council and Mayor Richard Turner for their support of the team.
