The U.S. Postal Service is hiring for a starting salary of just under $19 an hour in Jersey City and beyond, hosting hiring events across the state in the next month.

“The U.S. Postal Service is looking to fill more than 300 positions in locations around the state. These positions support the critical delivery of local U.S. Mail and packages,” said USPS spokesman Xavier Hernandez.
“All of these positions start at $18.92 an hour, with opportunities for overtime, and come with a host of federal benefits.”
A promotional flyer says at least seven career events have been scheduled statewide through May 19th, with that event taking place at the Jersey City post office at 69 Montgomery St. between 11 a.m. and 2 p.m.
While they did not provide a hiring breakdown per region, Hernandez said a significant number of jobs will be will be reserved for the Hudson County area.
“While I don’t have a specific breakdown, the lion’s share of the hiring will be in Jersey City/greater Hudson County area because of the population density.”
