“We are proud to endorse Congressman Rob Menendez for re-election. In the U.S. House of Representatives, Rob is a champion for our values and fights tirelessly to make the American Dream a possibility for all,” House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries, Whip Katherine Clark, and Caucus Chair Pete Aguilar said in a statement.

“Rob’s focus and effectiveness have made him an invaluable member of the Democratic Caucus, having already served in several leadership positions, both elected and appointed by his peers. He is a fierce advocate for transportation and affordability, stands with us against MAGA extremism, and continues to deliver for his community and our nation. Rob has always put People Over Politics, and we look forward to helping him get re-elected so he can continue his work for New Jersey’s Eighth Congressional District.”

Menendez serves as Regional Whip for the House Democratic Caucus, co-chair of the Congressional Hispanic Caucus’ Immigration Task Force, and also served as Freshman Representative to the House Democratic Steering and Policy Committee in 2023.

“For the past year, I have worked closely alongside Leader Jeffries, Whip Clark, and Caucus Chair Aguilar for the benefit of working families in New Jersey’s Eighth Congressional District,” he explained.

“Our collaborative approach has brought back over $11 billion in federal funding for our communities, blocked GOP attacks on a woman’s right to reproductive choice, and kept our government open. And there is so much more that we can and will accomplish together. I am proud to have our leadership team’s support for my re-election campaign, and I look forward to working with them to both win another term and to ensure a Democratic majority in the 119th Congress.”

While Federal Election Commission (FEC) reports aren’t available yet, Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla’s congressional campaign has indicated he has already raised $1 million in his off the line bid to unseat Menendez.

He has been critical of the criminal case of U.S. Senator Bob Menendez (D-NJ), Rob’s father, calling his his resignation after being accused of taking bribes and abusing his office.

The senator has pleaded not guilty to all charges and his legal team has filed two separate motions to dismiss in the case.

Kyle Jasey, the son of former Assemblywoman Mila Jasey, is another Democratic candidate who has declared in the race.
