The event will take place at the Connors Senior Center, located at 394 Central Ave., on Wednesday, October 29th from 12 p.m. until 3 p.m.

“Economic uncertainty and cost of living increases have left many New Jersey seniors with affordability concerns. Fortunately, our state has multiple programs that I’m proud to help bring to my district to ensure our seniors receive the property tax relief they deserve.” Ramirez said in a statement.

The programs, administered through New Jersey’s Division of Taxation, include benefits for seniors from reimbursements on property tax fees to relief on their total property tax liabilities.

While previously these programs (ANCHOR, StayNJ, and Senior Freeze) were separate applications, this year qualifying applicants can receive relief through one streamlined application, the PAS-1 form.

“I encourage eligible seniors to join me this October and help ensure they receive the financial support they deserve.” Ramirez added.

Seniors interested in attending should be mindful to have personal information including their address, photo ID, and social security number on hand, in addition to relevant tax filing information, such as their 2023 & 2024 Income Documentation (NJ-1040(s), 1099R(s), and 1099-SSA(s)), and Total Billed 2023 & 2024 Property Taxes.

A complete checklist can be found here.

“As someone from a working-class background, I understand that affordable homeownership, for so long a symbol of the American Dream, is far too difficult for many New Jerseyans. I’ll continue to support proposals that make it easier for all NJ families to achieve this dream,” Ramirez concluded.

  1. It is one application, but the programs are still separate. For the 2024 application, Anchor checks already went out, but the others won’t come out, if at all, until an unspecified time in 2026.
