While details are scarce at this time, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and local police are investigating a man’s death in Downtown Jersey City.
The HCPO tweeted at 10:34 a.m. this morning that they were investigating a man’s death at 410 Monmouth St. and did not provide any more details.
A spokesman for the HCPO would only add that the investigation is ongoing when contacted by HCV.
When we arrived on the scene around 11:15 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department had closed the street near the intersection of Monmouth and 3rd Streets.
The HCPO’s Crime Scene Unit was also on the scene and part of the area enclosed by crime scene tape included the Barge Inn Tavern, located at 324 3rd St.
