Marcos Blandino, 51, of Passaic, was charged with two counts of first-degree aggravated sexual assault and one count of second-degree burglary, Suarez said in a statement.

On April 23, the Hoboken Police Department received a report of a sexual assault at a residence in Hoboken from a female victim, officials said.

The victim reportedly was walking home alone shortly after 6:00 p.m. and as she attempted to enter her apartment, she was grabbed from behind and pushed into her home where she was sexually assaulted, authorities said.

As a result of an ongoing police investigation, on May 30, at approximately 1:40 p.m., members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit, Hoboken Police Department and Passaic Police Department arrested Blandino

In addition to the Special Victims Unit, Suarez credited the Hoboken Police Department for their instrumental role in identifying the suspect, as well as the Passaic Police Department for assisting in the arrest.

The Prosecutor’s SVU is actively investigating the case with assistance from the Hoboken Police Department.
