A 24-year-old man has been arrested for fatally shooting a Jersey City man, 34, in front of a firehouse late Saturday evening, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

Brandon Montague, 24, of Jersey City, is charged with murder, possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon, Suarez said in a statement.
He was arrested earlier today in Newport News, Virginia by the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force in conjunction with the United States Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force.
He is being detained at the Newport News Jail as a Fugitive from Justice pending extradition to New Jersey.
Shortly after 10:10 p.m. on Saturday, the Jersey City Police Department was notified of a shooting in the area of 2 Bergen Ave.
Responding Officers located a man, later identified as Tyreef Robinson, 34, of Jersey City, with an apparent gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:27 p.m.
The Regional Medical Examiner’s Officer determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound to the torso and bilateral lower extremity and the manner to be homicide.
Suarez credited the HCPO Homicide Unit, the U.S. Marshals Service New York/New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task Force, the U.S. Marshals Service Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force, and the Jersey City Police Department with the investigation and arrest.
