Lateefa Rabb, 34 of Jersey City, has been charged with murder after the victim of a knife
attack died from his injuries, Suarez said in a statement.

Rabb was initially charged with aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes on October 30, authorities said.

On October 20, at approximately 7:20 p.m., the Jersey City Police Department received a
report of a male who was bleeding in an apartment located at 191 Academy St., officials said.

Upon arrival, officers found a victim bleeding from his chest. The victim was identified as Carl Salisbury, 57, of Jersey City, police said.

He was treated at the scene by Emergency Medical Services and then transported to Jersey City Medical Center where he received treatment for stab wounds to his chest and back until he succumbed to his injuries, authorities said.

Salisbury was pronounced dead at JCMC shortly after 12:20 p.m. on November 4. Rabb has been held at the Hudson County Correctional Facility in Kearny since her arrest on October 30, officials said.
