On February 28, 2020, members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Homicide Unit arrested and charged Tavon Parker, 35, of Baltimore, Maryland, in connection with the November 2, 2019 murder of Sirheen Walker in Jersey City.

He was arrested without incident in Windsor, Maryland with the assistance of the Baltimore County Police Department.

Parker, who is being held in Maryland pending an extradition hearing, has been charged with murder, possession of a weapon (firearm) for an unlawful purpose, and unlawful possession of a weapon.

On November 2, 2019, at approximately 12:30 a.m., the Jersey City Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Bergen and Lexington Avenues in Jersey City.

Walker was pronounced dead at approximately 12:45 a.m.

The cause of death was determined to be multiple gunshot wounds and the manner of death was determined to be homicide.

Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the Baltimore City and Baltimore County Police Departments for the investigation and arrest.
