Prosecutor: Already in Bergen County Jail, man arrested for Secaucus sexual assault

Already in the Bergen County Jail for a string of armed robberies, an Eatontown man has been arrested in connection to a Secaucus armed robbery and sexual assault, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

Yesterday at approximately 4:00 p.m., members of the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit arrested Dajan Mindingall, 27, of Eatontown, on multiple charges related to an armed robbery and aggravated sexual assault in Secaucus on January 15, 2020.

Mindingall was arrested at the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack where he was being held following his arrest related to a string of armed robberies in multiple jurisdictions throughout New Jersey.

He was processed and remains in custody in the Bergen County Jail.

Mindingall has been charged with armed aggravated sexual assault, aggravated sexual assault (during a robbery), robbery, criminal restrain, burglary, possession of a weapon (firearm) for unlawful purposes, unlawful possession of a weapon, and aggravated assault.

On Wednesday, January 15th, in the early morning hours, the Secaucus Police Department received a report of woman who had been robbed and sexually assaulted at gunpoint at the Red Roof Inn at 15 Meadowlands Parkway.

The investigation determined that shortly after 1 a.m., Mindingall forcibly entered the victim’s hotel room, held her against her will, robbed her of over $400 and sexually assaulted her at gunpoint.

Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Special Victims Unit and the Secaucus Police Department for their work on the investigation and the arrest, as well as the Monmouth County and Bergen County Prosecutor’s Offices.
