Police: Two men arrested for firing shots near Bayonne gas station in September

Two men were arrested this week for firing shots near a Bayonne gas station in September, where police recovered a 9 millimeter handgun, authorities said.

On September 6th at approximately 4:36 a.m., Bayonne police responded to shots fired near the intersection of 52nd Street and Broadway. At the scene, officials recovered a nine millimeter handgun and five spent shell casings.

After an extensive investigation conducted by the detective bureau, two men have been arrested in connection to the crime: Sharife Roberson and Ron Hemingway, police said.

Roberson has been charged with unlawful possession of a weapon, unlawful possession of a weapon as a first degree crime and certain persons not to possess weapons. He is currently incarcerated at New Jersey State Prison for an unrelated crime, authorities said.

Meanwhile, Hemingway was charged with unlawful possession of a weapon and possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, officials said.
