William Ferrell, 21, of Brooklyn, NY, is charged with theft, obstruction by flight, resisting arrest, and credit card theft, Baccola said in a statement.
On August 3rd, a man later identified Ferrell was found to have taken an electrical scooter from the side of a residence on 9th Street. A search of the area was conducted with negative results.
However, on August 4th on 6:56 p.m., Secaucus police officers observed a suspicious man, Ferrell, running in the area of 9th Street who was subsequently located in the area of 109 Centre Ave.
He was determined to be the same man who had taken the electrical scooter and was subsequently charged with the theft, authorities said.
Additionally, two credit cards that did not belong to him were found on his person, leading to Ferrell being subsequently charged with credit card theft along with obstruction by flight and resisting arrest.
He was issued his complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility, police said.
