Davante Gregory, 19, of Jersey City, and a minor were each charged with possession of a handgun for unlawful purpose, unlawful possession of a weapon, and possession of hollow point bullets, according to Police Det. Lt. Jonathan Mecka.
At approximately 9 p.m. on Wednesday, July 6th, the Hoboken Police Department was investigating a vehicle with a potential handgun in it. During the on-scene investigation, the vehicle in question was towed and a search warrant was secured.
A Glock .45 caliber handgun was recovered during the execution of the search warrant.
Over the last two months, the Hoboken Police Department’s Investigation Bureau followed up on this case and developed probable cause to arrest and charge two individuals.
Then in the past week, the Hoboken Police Department Streets Crimes Unit was able to arrest Gregory and process one juvenile on a delinquency compliant.
Both were issued the aforementioned charges and processed, police said.
