North Bergen police seeking public’s help to locate missing man suffering from Alzheimer’s

The North Bergen Police Department is seeking the public’s help to locate a missing man suffering from Alzheimer’s disease.

“He left his residence at approximately 7:40 a.m. on December 21st. Last time he was located by his family, it was in the area of Secaucus Road and Tonnelle Avenue. Mr. Rodas previously resided at 116 Poplar Street in Jersey City,” the NBPD wrote on Facebook.

” … He does not have a cell phone or a tracking medical alarm at this time. If you make contact or have any further information on the missing individual, please contact North Bergen Police Department at 201-392-2100.”

This afternoon, Police Capt. David Dowd said that Rodas responds to his name, but he may be in an “altered mental state” since he hasn’t taken his medication in 24 hours.

Dowd added that Rodas was last seen wearing a black, puffy winter jacket with red lining in the hood, a dark green sweater, gray dress pants and black/white New Balance Sneakers. He is also in possession of a lanyard with the word “Clover” on it.

Rodas is a 73 year old Hispanic Male, with salt and pepper colored hair, standing approximately five feet, four inches tall and weighing 175 pounds.

Additionally, he is known to frequent the Sunrise Strip Mall, located at 90th Street and Bergenline Avenue in North Bergen, 5th Street and Tonnelle Avenue in North Bergen, and the 100th block of Poplar Street in Jersey City.
