Fokam Parfait, 25, of Montclair, is charged with aggravated sexual assault, aggravated assault, and kidnapping, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement.
He was arrested at the Bergen County Jail, where he is currently being detained on similar charges: Parfait is also accused of a robbery and sexual assault in Saddle Brook that occurred on Friday, March 24th, per the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.
The State has filed a Motion for Detention in the more recent matter, which is tentatively scheduled for Monday, May 1st.
On Thursday, March 30th, the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit was notified that a 28-year-old victim reported being sexually assaulted at a hotel on Meadowlands Parkway in Secaucus on Saturday, September 10th, 2022.
The victim sustained head and facial injuries and was prevented from leaving the hotel room during the course of the assault. Parfait allegedly met the victim through an online dating app.
Suarez credited the Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit and the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit with the investigation and arrest.
