Brian Gilliam, 40, of Jersey City, was charged with receiving a stolen motor vehicle and released pending his appearance in court, Miller said in a statement.
In May 11th, at 5:07 p.m., a concerned citizen contacted the Secaucus Police Department and reported that a man within the Walmart Parking Lot, located 400 Park Plaza Drive, was “acting suspicious and possibly engaging in nefarious activity.”
Detectives from the Secaucus Police Department’s Anti-Crime Unit responded to the area and observed the male going in and out of a parked vehicle.
Upon checking the registration on the 2019 Jeep Wrangler, it became known that the vehicle was stolen from New York on May 6, 2024. Detectives approached Giliam and placed him under arrest.
“The arrest is a testament that when the police and public collaboratively work together, we can curtail criminal activity. The Secaucus Police Department will respond to and investigate all reports of criminal activity and proactively investigate them,” Miller added.
