Dear Editor,

My name is Jane Mylan and I have lived in Hoboken since 1999. We bought our home in the Second Ward in 2010 and cherish being a part of this community.

Many of you have heard my daughters running down the street with friends, or have been greeted by our new puppy on our many walks down Park Ave. I am writing to share my belief that we desperately need a change in leadership in the Second Ward.

I am voting for Marla Decker because I have no doubt that Marla will put the needs of my neighbors in the Second Ward first as our representative on city council.

I continue to be in awe of Marla’s ability to prioritize service to her community, while also balancing a career and a family. Marla’s support of public education has been long standing as an active volunteer for the HPEF.

She is a passionate advocate for Moms Demand Action and will make our schools and community safer as a Gun Sense Candidate of Distinction.

I’ve seen first-hand her commitment to connecting with my neighbors by knocking on hundreds of doors to meet her constituents. Marla’s ability to listen, learn and effectively address the diverse concerns of Second Ward residents is unmatched.

While my vote for Marla is rooted in her integrity, work ethic and commitment to this community, I feel compelled to also express my belief that we must vote for change in the second ward.

Ms. Fisher has prioritized opposing Mayor Bhalla’s administration over doing what is best for those she serves.

She then doubles down on misjudgments about our ward priorities with lengthy, grandstanding newsletters that attempt to distract voters from her misguided agenda.

Our community has suffered from this game of finger pointing and it is time to hold Ms. Fisher accountable for her inability to make the Second Ward’s needs her top priority.

As a neighbor, volunteer, attorney, gun sense candidate, HOA board member, parent, and friend – there is no candidate more qualified to represent the diverse needs of the second ward than Marla Decker.

Marla Decker will put the needs of the second ward first over any political agenda and she has earned our vote.

Sincerely,

Jane Mylan
Hoboken 2nd Ward Resident since 2010

  1. Jane is crying because as a champion of Friends of the Hoboken High school, her and Marla got shot down by Tiffany. No Jane we don’t care that you can’t afford private school for your kids.
