“As I see it, there are two paramount issues that demand our attention in this election: maintaining Hoboken’s affordability and making the necessary investments to ensure Hoboken remains safe,” Ferrante said in a statement.

“There is only one candidate in this race who has demonstrated an unwavering commitment to progress on these two issues – Rafi Cordova.”

Cordova’s campaign, which also has the backing of Mayor Ravi Bhalla and his allies on the city council, indicated that Ferrante is speaking as a private citizen and not in his official capacity as public safety director.

“Having closely followed Hoboken politics since my teenage years, there have only been a few times when I’ve felt more passionate about a candidate. Unlike those who overpromise, he delivers on his commitments without resorting to empty rhetoric,” he continued.

“Rafi is not one to vent frustrations day after day on social media; instead, he seeks solutions. He’s the advocate I want representing not only my neighbors, but also my parents who reside in the First Ward.”

Hudson County Board of Commissioner Chair Anthony Romano (D-5), a retired police captain, has also endorsed Cordova, and coincidentally, he is also Ferrante’s number 2 as Hoboken’s deputy public safety director.

Meanwhile, Cordova’s opponent next week, Paul Presinzano, has secured the endorsements of three of Bhalla’s political adversaries on the council after being the top vote getter on November 7th, where Cordova came in second and Leo Pellegrini came in a distant third.

  1. Interesting that Kenny says there have been only a few times that he’s been as passionate about a candidate.

I wonder if one of those times was when he back Peter Cammarano for Mayor who later ended up in handcuffs.

Not sure I trust his judgement as his other point is Hoboken’s affordability. And he lived in subsidized housing while making over $250,000 as police chief. He doesn’t seem to care too much about Hoboken’s long wait list for affordable housing

  2. Oh Kenny, there you go again! Your 150,000 pension and now your $150,000 second career job. We see a pattern here.
Every election cycle it seems Kenny gets another $150,000 or better apartment
The only thing that’s not safe in Hoboken are the taxpayer’s wallets!

  3. Rafi is not one to vent frustrations or to say or do much of anything. If it weren’t for mayoral proxies, most of us wouldn’t even know who he is. He wasn’t at the first ward safety meetings organized by the city police and fire (Paul was). He wasn’t at any of the last 24 city council meetings (Paul was). He isn’t active on the list serves discussing quality of life issues (Paul is) and he was silent during the recent Board of Education referendum and election. (Paul wasn’t)

    • Disagree, Rafi showed up to a city council meeting to let the town know how upset he was that white people are moving into town and raising prices. He was a racist race baiter from the start probably learned it from his boss “fake terror flier” Bhalla. Continued during last nights debate even going so far to claim the word “palace” was racist. Hate has no place in Hoboken, gotta kick Rafi and Ravi out.
