Hudson County Executive-elect Craig Guy has named Sarah Almeida, a Kearny resident who served as the deputy finance director of his campaign, as his inaugural director.

“I’m incredibly thankful to Sarah for agreeing to lead my inaugural event. Sarah is a talented young woman who exemplifies the future of our Democratic party and the future of Hudson County,” Guy said in a statement.
Guy, currently outgoing Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise’s chief of staff, won the primary by about a 3-1 margin and did not have an opponent in the general election.
“I could not be more excited to take on this role and help ensure that Craig’s administration begins with an inaugural event that exemplifies the values that have always driven his commitment to public service,” Almeida added.
“We look forward to announcing more details about the event soon and inviting the Hudson County community to celebrate this occasion with us.”
Almeida has over a decade of experience in issue advocacy and organizing, according to Guy’s campaign, and served as the associate director of finance for the New York Senate Democrats, based on her LinkedIn page.
