“Throughout his two terms in Congress, Rob has delivered time and time again for our members across Hudson County,” Hudson County Building and Construction Trades Council President Pat Kelleher said in a statement.

“When the Trump Administration tried to shut down the Gateway Program and put our members out of work, Rob stood up for us and got this project back on track. He has brought back billions in funding for transportation infrastructure, led pro-worker legislation, and worked to ensure unions like ours can continue to organize for better conditions, good jobs, and workplace protections.”

The Hudson County-based congressman had already secured union support in the form of the Eastern Atlantic States Regional Council of Carpenters, the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA), 32BJ SEIU, and the Hotel and Gaming Trades Council.

“Since I was first elected to Congress, I have stood with our Hudson County Building Trades members in fighting for the Gateway Program, for critical infrastructure projects, and with working families every single day,” added Menendez.

“I am honored to again earn the support of the members of the Hudson County Building Trades, and to fight for them in Congress every single day. Together, we will continue to bring new infrastructure investments to all of our communities and work for the benefit of organized labor and our residents who depend on the results we deliver for them.”
