The Hoboken Police Department is investigating an incident where a woman appeared to jump to her death from a parking garage in the 2nd Ward.

“At approximately 5 p.m., Hoboken police and city EMS/Volunteer Ambulance Corps responded to the area of 15th and Bloomfield Streets on reports of an individual who jumped from the roof of a nearby parking garage,” the Hoboken PD said in a statement.
“Unfortunately, the individual succumbed to their injuries. An investigation is underway. Anyone with information is asked to call Hoboken Police Department at 201-420-2100. 2nd Ward Councilwoman Tiffanie Fisher said in an email blast that the fatality, which occurred at 1450 Bloomfield St. parking garage into the work area for the Rebuild by Design project, appears to be self-inflicted and that first responders arrived promptly.
“I spoke with several neighbors in the area. Tragedies like this are felt deeply by many. Whether from a place of experience, empathy, or sympathy. Today feels like a ‘hug your neighbor’ kind of day,” she added.
“My heart goes out to those who loved her and will be sadly affected by this tragic loss.”
