Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla has named Christine Stoll, the wife of her predecessor Vijay Chaudhuri, as his new chief of staff, set to start next Friday at a salary of $150,000, according to city spokeswoman Marilyn Baer.

“Christine brings a wealth of experience and a proven commitment to public service that make her exceptionally qualified to take on this critical role,” Bhalla said in a statement.
“Her understanding of government operations, her ability to engage with diverse
stakeholders, and her track record of successfully delivering for the community will make her an asset to my administration, and to the City of Hoboken.”
Stoll most recently served as chief of staff to Assemblyman John Allen (D-32), who is another former chief of staff to Bhalla who is not seeking re-election with Bhalla running for his Assembly seat.
In this role, she managed constituent services, along with legislative, policy, budgetary, and communications functions.
Chaudhuri announced on Wednesday that he’d be leaving City Hall soon to pursue a career in consulting after about a decade spent in Hoboken municipal government, as HCV first reported.
“I am honored to join Mayor Bhalla’s team and excited to work alongside such dedicated public servants,” added Stoll.
“Serving the people of Hoboken in this new capacity is a privilege, and I look forward to helping advance initiatives that strengthen the Hoboken community and enhance the quality of life for all residents.”
Prior to her work in New Jersey, Stoll spent several years in New York State government.
Most recently, she served as director of special events in Gov. Kathy Hochul’s (D) administration, overseeing high-profile initiatives and statewide events.
Her previous experience also includes serving as chief of staff to then-New York Assemblyman Mike Miller (D-38) and working as a staffer for New York City Councilwoman Elizabeth Crowley.
Stoll was also elected as a district leader in Queens, where she represented over 30,000 constituents, and she played a role in the development of 21 in ‘21, a nonprofit group focused on empowering and electing more women to the New York City Council.
She also currently serves on the New Jersey City University (NJCU) President’s Community Advisory Council.

Shameless nepotism, Ravi Bhalla corruption style. The same Ravi who tried to put Jason Freeman’s wife into an Assembly position. At least Brian Stack snuffed that one out.
Am I imagining things,-or this one right out of Trump’s playbook?
LOL! Keeping it in the family. This is “reform” gpvernment for you.
