“#BautistaforMayor: 427 reasons to run for mayor! We presented 427 signatures in support of our mayoral campaign for a more people-friendly #Hoboken,” Bautista wrote in a Facebook post shortly after 8 a.m. this morning.
“I’m thankful because every signature was a conversation, a debate that strengthened our commitment to transform people’s frustrations into real solutions.”
Bautista, an advocate for safer streets, is a major underdog in the November 7th mayoral contest as he squares off with known commodities such as Freeholder Anthony Romano (D-5), Council President Jen Giattino, 1st Ward Councilman Mike DeFusco and Councilman-at-Large Ravi Bhalla.
As of this afternoon, Giattino, DeFusco and business owner Karen Nason have also already submitted their petitions for nomination ahead of the September 5th filing deadline.
