Cohen is also endorsing Mayor Ravi Bhalla himself, though endorsements aren’t all that essential in that contest since the incumbent is running unopposed.

“I’m proud to enthusiastically endorse Ravi Bhalla for Mayor, and Jim Doyle, Emily Jabbour and Joe Quintero for City Council,” he began in a statement.

“Council members Jabbour and Doyle have a proven track record of working with Mayor Bhalla on some of Hoboken’s most consequential issues, including defending our waterfront from a refueling station and large-scale development, and keeping our residents safe during the pandemic. And I know Joe Quintero has the smarts, work ethic, and tenacity to make an excellent addition to the City Council.”

Cohen’s endorsement is pretty academic, since he was a part of Team Bhalla in the 2019 municipal elections and has been a top political ally of his, along with Doyle and Jabbour, ever since.

The announcement comes just a few hours after Councilwomen Tiffanie Fisher and Jen Giattino backed the “Independently Together” slate, in another move that was very much expected sooner than later in the Mile Square City’s political arena.
