High Tech High School grad performs with rapper Cardi B at American Music Awards

A recent graduate of High Tech High School performed as a backup dancer for hit rapper Cardi B at the American Music Awards on October 9th. 

Elyssa Cueto, who graduated from High Tech last year, was one of the featured backup dancers during Cardi B, Bad Bunny and J Balvin’s performance on Oct. 9.

Cueto is an 18-year-old North Bergen native who recently moved to Los Angeles, a spokeswoman for the school said.

She aded that Cueto has been taking dance lessons since she was 3 years old and is trained in ballet, jazz, flamenco, tap, acrobatics, hip hop, contemporary and modern dance.

The Hudson County native has previously performed in music videos with Jennifer Lopez and Jason Derulo.

Since graduating, Cueto has also worked on promotional projects for DanceOn and Degree Deodorant.
