HCPO Special Victims Unit investigating Downtown Jersey City sexual assault

The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Special Victims Unit is investigating a Downtown Jersey City sexual assault that occurred early Sunday morning, authorities said.

A 22-year-old female victim reported that in the early morning hours of Sunday, June 2nd, she was approached by an unknown man in the Journal Square neighborhood of Jersey City and she eventually entered his while vehicle, County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement.

The man drove the victim to the intersection of Division and Eighth Streets at approximately 7 a.m., where she reported being sexually assaulted in the vehicle. During the early stages of the preliminary investigation, a person of interest was identified.

The matter remains under investigation by the HCPO SVU with assistance from the Jersey City Police Department.

  1. That Indian girl was not assaulted. She willingly got in the car. She was drunk and on her period so what the hell is really going on. The system needs to stop falsely accusing these young black men when no harm was done. Some of these Women are lying and there are wicked. They sleep with the serpent in this modern era.
