The Hudson County Prosecutor’s Office Homicide Unit and the North Bergen Police Department are investigating the death of a man who was fatally shot on Monday, Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

Shortly before 3:30 p.m. on Monday, December 9th, the North Bergen PD was notified of an unresponsive man inside a second floor residence at 9028 Palisade Plaza, Suarez said in a statement.
Responding officers located the lifeless body of a man, later identified as Juan Moyet, 48, of North Bergen. He was pronounced dead at the scene just after 3:50 p.m.
The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office responded and determined the victim suffered an apparent head injury. Yesterday, a post-mortem exam was conducted that determined the cause of death to be a gunshot wound to the head and the manner to be homicide.
This matter is being investigated by the HCPO Homicide Unit and the North Bergen PD and no arrests have been made at this time.
