Guy raises $20k in latest event for Hudson County exec bid, has $237k cash on hand

Hudson County Executive candidate Craig Guy raised about $20,000 at his latest event in Jersey City on Tuesday evening, raising his cash on hand to about $237,000.

“A huge thank you to my friends Jonathan DeFilippo and Russell Fallacara for hosting such a great fundraiser for me last night at O’Learys – you guys definitely know how to put the fun in fundraising,” Guy, outgoing Hudson County Executive Tom DeGise’s chief of staff, wrote on Instagram.

“I was happy to see so many friends from all over Hudson County and to see such an outpouring of support for myself and the entire Column 🅱️ team.”

According to his May 9th report filed with the New Jersey Election Law Enforcement Commission, Guy has raised $891,209.13 to date and had cash on hand $217,518.77 prior to Tuesday’s event.

Guy has the backing of the Hudson County Democratic Organization, Gov. Phil Murphy (D), U.S. Senator Bob Menendez and Cory Booker (both D-NJ), along with many other elected Democrats throughout the state.

Guy’s campaign noted that dignitaries at O’Leary’s included Jersey City Mayor Steven Fulop, DeGise and his daughter, Jersey City Councilwoman-at-Large Amy DeGise, Assemblywoman and state Senate candidate Angela McKnight, Assemblyman Will Sampson (D-31), Jersey City Council President Joyce Watterman, Jersey City Council members Denise Ridley, Mira Prinz-Arey, and Rich Boggiano, Jersey City Democratic Organization Chair/Assembly candidate Barbara Stamato, Bayonne 2nd Ward Councilwoman Jacqueline Weimmer, County Commissioners Anthony Romano (D-5), the chairman, Bob Baselice (D-7), and Jerry Walker (D-3), and Guttenberg Mayor Wayne Zitt.
