On Saturday at approximately 4 p.m., Jersey City police officers responded a call at 93 Grant Ave. about an apparent drug overdose, according to city spokeswoman Kimberly Wallace-Scalcione.

A 43-year-old man was taken to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead and two officers were exposed to fentanyl while providing CPR to the victim.

As a result, they were transported to a local hospital for treatment and the Jersey City Fire Department Hazmat Unit responded to decontaminate the scene, Wallace-Scalcione said.
