A former Guttenberg police sergeant was found dead in his car last night after shooting himself in the head, officials confirmed with Hudson County View this afternoon.

Both Guttenberg Mayor Gerald Drasheff and Deputy Public Safety Director Joel Magenheimer confirmed that an ex-police sergeant was found dead last night, with Magenheimer adding that the man was discovered in his car.
Magenheimer further stated that the death was a suicide via a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, also explaining that the investigation remains open.
Neither Drasheff nor Magenheimer would immediately release any further details on the situation, including the former officer’s name, but this story will be updated when more information is available.
