CarePoint Health is teaming with Pluckemin Medical Equipment Ministry to improve access to healthcare devices, regardless of individuals’ financial situations.

“We are thrilled to partner with Pluckemin Medical Equipment Ministry to further our mission of delivering compassionate and patient-focused healthcare,” CarePoint Health Vice President of Patient Experience Justin Drew said in a statement.
“By working together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of individuals who require medical equipment and supplies but may not have the means to access them,” added CarePoint Health System Director of Case Management Manish Ramani .
Through this partnership, CarePoint Health and MEM aim to bridge the gap in healthcare accessibility by providing individuals in Hudson County with essential medical equipment and supplies. The most popular items that are requested are wheelchairs and walkers.
Today, MEM will be distributing 15 of those items to CarePoint Health patients. When case managers see that a patient receives charity care or Medicaid, they always make sure that the patient is able to receive what they need in order to achieve a speedy recovery.
By combining CarePoint Health’s extensive network of specialists and advanced technology with MEM’s commitment to serving the community, this collaboration will have a profound impact on the lives of those in need.
“When I think about how many people we are helping, the work that we’re doing is amazing,” noted MEM Director Dave Moore.
“CarePoint Health really cares about their patients and it is great to see a non-profit hospital help them in this way. Medical equipment can be very expensive and oftentimes people only use them for short periods of time. We are happy to pass on perfectly good, inspected and safe tools for patients to be able to heal properly and swiftly.”
Last week, CarePoint, who owns the Bayonne Medical Center, Hoboken University Medical Center, and Christ Hospital in Jersey City, announced a planned team up with Hudson Regional Hospital in Secaucus to form Hudson Health System.
However, the New Jersey Department of Health, who would have to approve the partnership, sent notice on the same day indicating that a financial monitor was appointed to CarePoint’s three hospitals, therefore what comes next remains unclear at this time.
