“This Saturday morning we will start closing the road from Broadway to the circle to all vehicular traffic on weekends only,” Vainieri wrote on Facebook.

“Reason being for pedestrian safety and most of all it will allow our children a place to ride their bikes. I’ve seen so many children on small bicycles looking for a safe area to ride. Let them utilize this area for bike riding only. Please be safe and enjoy the weekend. Thank you.”

Braddock Park, North Hudson’s largest county park, was one of several to reopen with restrictions on Saturday morning following an executive order from Gov. Phil Murphy.

Also this weekend, Hoboken will close several roads along Jefferson Street as part of a pilot program to promote social distancing.
