Shortly before 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, the Jersey City PD was notified of a body floating underneath the Pulaski Skyway, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez said in a statement.

Responding officers located a man — later identified as Bryan Linington, 49, of Cliffwood — floating in the water. He was removed from the water by the Jersey City Fire Department and was pronounced dead at approximately 7:30 p.m.

At this stage of the investigation, the death does not appear to be suspicious. The cause and manner of death are pending the findings of the Regional Medical Examiner’s Office.

The HCPO Homicide Unit and the Jersey City Police Department are actively investigating this matter.
