The incident occurred on March 27th at approximately 3:20 p.m., on the 100 block of River Street, when an unknown individual entered a running and unlocked black 2020 Range Rover, the Hoboken PD said in a statement on Tuesday.

When the victim noticed the person in his driver’s seat, he jumped into the passenger seat and got into a physical altercation with the man, during which he was able to shut off the car.

The aggressor then struck the victim in the face before exiting the vehicle, later seen fleeing on foot with another man. The victim was treated for minor injuries on the scene by Hoboken EMS and refused further medical attention.

Further investigation by Dets. John Quinones, Christine Collins, Michael Losurdo, Andrew Perez, Vito Gigante, and Police Officer Ramon Estrella identified two persons of interest who are believed to have left Hoboken that afternoon via the PATH train.

Anyone who can identify the individuals in the above photos, or with more information on this incident, is asked to contact Det. John Quinones at Quinonesj@hobokenpdnj.gov or 201-420- 2100 ext. 3182.
