A man was sentenced to 14 years in New Jersey State Prison on Friday for a fatal 2020 shooting in Hoboken the claimed the life of a 24-year-old man.

Hudson County Superior Court Judge Angelo Servidio sentenced Tahjae McDougald, 25, of Willingboro on Friday. His sentence is subject to the No Early Release Act. The State was represented in this case by Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor Edward Bilinkas.
“It is our hope this sentence helps the victim’s family and loved ones continue healing and we thank the court for its service in this matter,” said Hudson County Assistant Prosecutor Edward Bilinkas.
On Friday, August 7, 2020, just after 10:30 p.m., members of the Hoboken Police Department responded to an apartment at 300 Grand St. on a report of a shooting.
Responding officers found the victim – later identified as Marquise Davis, 24, of Willingboro – with apparent gunshot wounds to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 10:52 p.m.
The Regional Medical Examiner’s Office determined the cause of death to be gunshot wounds to the abdomen and the manner of death to be homicide.
McDougald, of Willingboro, pleaded guilty to aggravated manslaughter on Monday, September 26th.
