West New York commemorates September 11, 2001 victims at Donnelly Park

The Town of West New York hosted a memorial ceremony for the victims of the September 11, 2001 terroristic attacks at Donnelly Park, which was well attended by residents and officials alike.

Dozens of West New York residents gathered at Donnelly Park on Boulevard East Friday night to pay their respects for those who lost their lives on September 11, 2001.

In addition to various members of the West New York and North Bergen Police Departments, as well as North Hudson Regional Fire & Rescue, Mayor Felix Roque, Assemblywoman Angelica Jimenez, Superintendent of Schools Clara Brito Herrera and Commissioners Sue Colacurcio, Gabriel Rodriguez and Margarita Guzman all attended the ceremony.

Roque and Colacurcio reflected on the horrific event from 14 years ago to the day during an interview with Hudson County View.

West New York’s Michel P. Colbert was a bond trader who was killed as a result of the terrorist attacks at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2011. He was 38 years old.
