A Hoboken transformer outage briefly left about 5,000 residents north of 7th Street without power, though it is already been mostly restored, Hoboken Mayor Ravi Bhalla said this evening.
The scene just a few minutes ago at 11th & Hudson in @CityofHoboken. Anyone able to shed light on the situation? Seems like power is out in much of uptown Hoboken. @RaviBhalla @KenFerrante @ABC7NY @brian4NY pic.twitter.com/mCGEAu4b1f

“Due to a transformer outage, portions of Hoboken north of 7th Street may be without power. Emergency responders and PSE&G are currently on site and evaluating a time frame for repairs,” the city wrote in a Nixle alert that went out at 8:14 p.m.
At 8:27 p.m., Bhalla tweeted that 5,000 residents are without power and that PSE&G is working on quickly on the repairs.
“Just spoke to PSE&G – 5,000 residents are without power (including my family). PSE&G will be working as quickly as possible on repairs. Thank you to everyone for their patience & to our first responders for quickly responding to the scene & directing traffic at intersections,” he said.
The Hoboken Fire Department, Hudson County Sheriff’s Office, as well as the Union City and North Bergen Police Departments also responded to the scene.
At 9 p.m., Bhalla indicated that power had been restored in many areas and that PSE&G would work until everyone’s power would be restored.
Power is back at my home & restored in other areas as well. Thanks to @PSEGdelivers for working so quickly on repairs. There may be some residents still temporarily without power, however most areas should be back on. PSE&G will continue working until everyone has power restored. https://t.co/0fv5p7luC7

Well so much for the “Micro-Grid”. The Micro-Grid in Hoboken is an empty conduit. Another catch phrase.
Leaving aside that the planned microgrid hasn’t been built, your idiotic comment betrays your ignorance about what a microgrid even is and how it would help.
I guess one function of the comment section of blogs is to provide a forum for stupid horse’s arses to demonstrate just what stupid stupid horse’s arses they are.
