A 48-year-old Union City man was charged with making sexual contact with a six-year-old girl back in May, Hudson County Prosecutor Esther Suarez announced.

Fernando-Gomez, 48, of Union City, is charged with sexual assault by contact and endangering the welfare of a child, Suarez said in a statement.
He was arrested at his residence and transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility pending his first court appearance. The crimes were committed on May 19th at a residence in Jersey City. The defendant is known to the vicm victim.
Suarez credited the HCPO Special Victims Unit with the investigation and arrest.
