Urban Paddle is expanding new pedal boat rentals to Fairy Lake in West Hudson Park, which includes parts of Kearny and Harrison, after opening in Lincoln Park in Jersey City and James J. Braddock Park in North Bergen in 2021.

“We launched a soft opening of boat rentals at West Hudson Park two weeks ago and the response has been amazing,” Urban Paddle owner Kevin Murray said in a statement.
“All of our four-person boats were fully rented each Sunday and local Harrison and Kearny residents absolutely love the new concept. The community’s response has been very positive and our staff of local Hudson County students are loving interacting with the neighbors.”
One-hour pedal boat rentals are $10 per person for Hudson County residents, while children nine years old and younger pedal for free with an adult.
The rentals are available on Saturdays and Sundays from 10 a.m. until 7 p.m. until the end of October and reservations can be made in advance here.
“The expansion into Fairy Lake would not have been possible without County Executive Craig Guy and the Parks Department’s help. Craig has fully supported the new idea of this aquatic family activity in the Hudson Park lake System since we started and it has been a great addition to Braddock Park,” Murray added.
“It’s really created a new vibrant atmosphere and inspired more activity and business around the lake. Residents love seeing out on the lake and families having fun. I see the same thing happening at Fairy Lake. We kept the price for rentals affordable at only 10 bucks for our Hudson residents and all of our equipment is top quality and brand new. We will be open into October and are already looking forward to next spring.”
