On September 24th at approximately 4:14 p.m., Secaucus police responded to Osprey Cove East, located at 45 Meadowlands Parkway, on a report of a verbal dispute between a patron and an Uber Eats bicyclist, Police Chief Dennis Miller said in a statement.

The Uber Eats deliverista left the area prior to police arrival before being located in the area of 9th Street and Flanagan Way. She failed to stop for the police while riding her bicycle despite numerous instructions to do so.

The woman subsequently entered the TD Bank, located at 1262 Paterson Plank Road, and went behind the teller counter in an attempt to elude the police further.

During this investigation, she struck an officer in the head with a bike lock and a vase, which gave him a concussion and required stitches.

Other officers subsequently arrested Jahil Rust, 24, of Bronx, New York, for aggravated assault against a law enforcement officer, obstructing the administration of law, resisting arrest by flight, resisting arrest by force, receiving stolen property, criminal mischief, two counts of possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose, two counts of unlawful possession of a weapon, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, terroristic threats, and burglary.

She was issued her complaint warrant and was subsequently transported to the Hudson County Correctional Facility, where she was released in less than 24 hours due to bail reform rules, Miller added.
